NFL week 2 matchups bring in a fresh new round of sports betting.  Get you handicaps, and picks of the week ready because it’s going to be a tough week. Looking at the point spreads, there are 3 games which pop out and really catch my attention for their large spreads.  The Green Bay Packers are favored by 13.5 against the Buffalo Bills, the Dallas Cowboys are favored by 9 over Chicago, and the San Diego Chargers are favored by 8 over the Jacksonville Jaguars. With such large spreads look for opportunities to capitalize.
There is a lot to talk about from week one, whose bets won, and whose bets lost, which teams choked, and which teams dominated, good calls and bad. First of all 12 2009 playoff teams lost in week 1. The Chiefs, and Redskins didn’t suck, and Pete Carroll won his first NFL game with Seattle. 11/16 of week ones matchups were decided by a td or less. Let’s hope week 2 is just as exciting!
Let’s talk about those large spread matchups. Who do you bet in your sports betting system when week 1 was soo unpredictable? Take a look at Green Bay coming off of a week 1 win where Aaron Rodgers looked impressive. The NFL could see Rodgers go for 400+ yards of passing this week against a poor Bills team. The keys for the Bills revolve around containing third down conversions, and containing the Rodgers clock management. Look to the Bills defense as a crucial key to this match. I can’t see the Bills winning.
The Next bet to place is a tough on. Betting on the Dallas Cowboys to cover the spread is a long shot. Dallas is coming off of a week 1 loss thanks to poor decisions made by Wade Phillips and a stupid off sides from Dallas’ o line. Alex Barron the player called for that penalty is the most penalized player in the NFL since 2005. Dallas made a lot of mistakes, if they can correct these errors. They could see themselves beating the Bears. Its not going to be easy the Bears are sitting on top of the NFC North standings, and with this momentum going into game 2 its hard to slow that role.
The last showdown for your betting systems includes my San Diego Chargers against the Jacksonville Jaguars. SD is coming off of a week 1 loss to Kansas City, a loss that is not to be taken too harshly. In other words, Philip Rivers did what he was supposed to and was on his game. It was the special teams of SD that really shot themselves in the foot. I would like to see SD come back and beat the Jaguars. Jacksonville is coming off a down to the wire first victory over a powerful Denver team. Look to see key players step up for SD, in reality if they are going to win, they have to utilize Ryan Mathews and contain Drew. The running game will make or break this game. If Mathews can open up the ground game, Rivers will pass for another 280+ yard game!

NFL Football: Michael Vick!

Michael Vick still has it. He can run, he can pass, he can catch. After week 1 my insights regarding the NFL have definately changed. Betting on Sports will not be the same. My bets are now influenced by Michael Vick's performance.

The Saturday before the NFL really begins, it is absolutely imperative that people prepare their sports bets, get their handicap picks in, and generally organize for the upcoming season. Lately I have been hearing rumors about a potential lockout 2011; if this is the case then I am going to get my NFL fix this year like it’s my last.
My personal favorite team to bet on is the San Diego Chargers. With the betting system I use, and judging by the point spread, SD is favored to win.
One particular game that looks enticing from a betting perspective is the Buffalo Bills Hosting the Miami Dolphins. Last year the MIA run game was untouchable by the Bills. Predictions state the same endeavor may strike 2 years in a row. BUF’s preseason 2-2 was not very fruitful; they are looking to start the season strong. Odds give MIA a field goal. Your NFL bets should probably include MIA on this one.
The Second Featured game, that has the largest spread of the weekend, between the Oakland Raiders and the Tennessee Titans, looks as though it is a no contest TEN victory. NFL RB Chris Johnson of TEN has some serious speed that Oakland can’t seem to match. That job will likely fall into the hands of LB Thomas Howard: should he help contain the run game OAK can contain TEN. With OAK’s defense on high alert trying to stop a powerful run game, OAK quarterback JaMarcus Russell struggles at a time when he needs to prove himself as Jason Campbell former Washington Redskin itches to manage a football game. NFL betting week one matchup between these two teams poses the largest sports betting dilemma: Will the Titans be contained allowing the Raiders to keep the match close, or will the Radiers allow Chris Johnson to get into the open field and open the game up.
To the heart of the Matter the San Diego Chargers featured on Monday Night Football competing for their 5th consecutive division title, squares of in the main stage with  the Kansas City Chiefs, a team looking to welcome new assistant coaches and groom QB hopeful Matt Cassel. This AFC rivalry from an NFL sports betting perspective shows San Diego as a 4.5 point favorite. According to http://sdg.scout.com/2/1001255.html the keys to the game start with a review of last year’s dominance by the Charger offense and the not so stellar Chiefs defense which gave up 59 points in the two matchups in the 2009 NFL betting system. This year the Chiefs defense is going to have to do better than last year’s 1 forces turnover and no sacks. If Philip Rivers has a 400+ yards game like last season KC better be prepared.
The Chargers have lost these crucial players LaDainian Tomlinson, Antonio Cromartie, Jamal Williams, Kassim Osgood, Vincent Jackson and Marcus McNeill. They look to new players such as Ryan Mathews a first rounder to provide offensive power, but this will only be possible if replacements for McNeil at Left Tackle can provide proficient blocking. At the same time Philip Rivers must find a new downfield target following the loss of Jackson. On the defensive side of the equation, with Shawne Merriman practicing minimally he will need to get back into pro-bowl form, while Larry English last year’s top draft needs to make more of an impact than last year’s 4 sacks, the pressure is on him to bring a fresh rush, while Shaun Phillips adds necessary support getting to the QB.
2010’s sports betting matchup will focus on the run game of SD and the strategic implementations of coaches Weis and Crennel. As SD has given up LaDainian Tomlinson the run game of Darren Sproles and Rookie Ryan Mathews (making NFL debut formerly with Fresno State) will need to fill the void and prove their salaries are deserved. The KC’s new coaching staff, and ex-Notre Dame Coach Weiss, is the focus of the Chiefs new and improved squad. Keys to the game include Weiss’s management of Matt Cassel and Crennel’s command of KC’s defense. My predicted outcome Chargers by a touchdown, 28 – 21, but check out this networks review and prediction to get a second opinion.  http://www.kansascity.com/2010/09/10/2213328/nfl-preview-san-diego-0-0-at-kansas.html
