Pro Bettors See More Talent in College Football

While the casual (weekend gamblers, office-poolers, pick-'em gamers) bettors focus on NFL Sundays to to try to make their loot, the professional bettors look to college football to win their money.

There is a maximum of 16 pro games a week, and each game is so thoroughly analyzed that there's little chance to find an angle that the line setters have not seen.  However, on any given Saturday, there are approximately 50 collegiate games for bookmakers to track.  That equals 100 teams each with their own injury report, suspensions, personal college drama (upcoming exams, breaking up with their girlfriends, frat parties, etc.) that bookmakers have to search while they're simultaneously taking bets and setting spreads and money lines for MLB and the NFL.

Some college betting tips include:
  • With nonconference games, relative conference strength matters.  For example, Pac-10 teams are typically rated stronger than the Big Ten
  • As the conference season begins and as teams play common foes each week, the bookmakers become more familiar to rate the games.
  • When longtime assistants in a new head coaching position go against teams that they know, that's not usually reflected in the spread.

Brady in talks with Deion Branch in returning to the Pats

Brady
All you sports betters out there would like to know that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady recently was in touch with Seattle Seahawks receiver Deion Branch about the possibility of having him rejoin New England to fill the void created by the recent blockbuster trade of star wide receiver Randy Moss to Minnesota, a league source told the Boston Globe.
Branch
According to the Boston Herald, the Patriots and Seahawks have had preliminary talks about the possibility of a Branch trade. Additionally, Deion will meet with Seahawks general manager John Schneider to discuss his future with the team, the source told the Boston Globe. So far this season, Branch has only 13 catches for 112 yards and one touchdown mostly due to a deep receiving corps on the Seahawks team. I'm sure that would change almost immediately if the trade goes through.
Moss
Branch played for the Patriots from 2002 to 2005 and was named MVP of Super Bowl XXXIX. He was traded to Seattle for a first-round draft pick before the 2006 season, ironically, after a contract dispute with the Patriots. Ironic in that it is rumored that Randy Moss was traded for the same reason.
For all you betters out there, keep an eye out for this potential trade as I'm sure the rewards will follow!

This week; NFL week 5, spread and matchup review starts with the fact that the 0-4 Detroit Lions are favored against the 2-2 Saint Louis Rams by a field goal. Sam Bradford squares off against Shaun Hill, both quarterbacks have been playing well, and both teams have been playing well despite the 0-4 record of Detroit they have been close in every game they've played. This matchup is soo evenly matched it will likely come down to a field goal to decide the game. The Oakland Raiders host the San Diego Chargers, and have no chance of defeating the bolts! The Charger squad coming off of a huge win against Arizona where once again Phillip Rivers has proved to be too good, however, the Raiders ground defense is one of the worst in the league, so look for a strong run attack from San Diego.
Game of the Week
Undefeated Kansas City will be in a very exicitng matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. The pass heavy Colts have an uphill battle against stellar young Chiefs secondary led by Brandon Flowers. Matt Cassell will need to connect with his favorite target this season tight end Tony Moeaki, however, Colts young cornerbacks need to be tested early. In the Chiefs first loss of the season, Peyton Manning will tear the Chiefs apart! Let's see what happens.
Other must see Matchups include:
The Redskins and McNabb are coming off of a huge win against the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Green Bay Packers led by Aaron Rodgers are coming off of a win to the Detroit Lions. This offensive matchup filled with downfield threats will be about which defense can stop the opposing QB. I like the Packers behind explosive Aaron Rodgers in a close matchup to throw a last quarter td for the win!
The AFC West matchup between the Denver Broncos, and the Baltimore Ravens will be a great game. While Baltimore is favored, Kyle Orton's passing attack could catch the Ravens on a blitz for easy points. Unless the Ravens non-existent run game picks up, I don't think their passing game will have too much room for error against a solid Bronco secondary led by Champ Bailey. I foresee the Broncos coming up with an away win to stop the momentum of this Raven defense.
Texans have shown a powerful presence in the league with rushing leader Arian Foster leading the NFL in rushing. At the same time the New York Giants have serious receiving threats and a Manning QB who has the power to pick apart offenses. Matt Shaub will spread the ball around, and Andre Johnson will have a huge game, while at the same time Mario Williams will lead this Houston defense to a win against the New York Giants.
When the Titans travel to Dallas they will face a Cowboy team that is hungry for a win, while this game will feature a Romo Young showdown, the real matchup will be between DeMarcus Ware putting pressure against Young while the shakey Dallas O line defends against Dave Ball and Will Witherspoon. In a late field goal, the Cowboys will take the home win!

Make Money From Home Using Arbitrage

Sports Betting Arbitrage, also known as scalping, sure bets, miraclebets, and arb trading, is an event that arises when bookmakers have differing opinions on event outcomes or just make errors. This system involves placing relatively large sums of money, as opposed to betting investment where relatively small systematic bets are places over time, making guaranteed profit from the difference in odds between sports books.

Does your sports betting technique include arbitrage? If not realize that those who find arbitrage within the market, these scalpers do not want to be known nor do bookmakers want them betting. With that said, there are hundreds of arbitrage finders who will give you all the information you need to utilize these arbitrage rates! You don’t need to know anything about this to make killer bets, you just need the money to put down.

Take a look at this example from the sportsarbitrageguide.com’s webpage.

“Examples are the easiest way to clarify exactly what that means, so just consider a tennis event where you can bet $100 on each player at odds of 2.05 at two competing bookmakers. All together you outlay $200 ($100 at each bookmaker), but if either bet wins you receive $100 x 2.05 = $205. With a $200 outlay, that is a $5 profit no matter which player wins.”

This concept is where you simultaneously buy and sell assets in defferent markets thereby taking advantage of differing prices. If you are good at finding errors in sportsbooks lines and odds, you stand to make money no matter how you spin the outcome! Bet on all outcomes for a guaranteed profit.

There are many arbitrage calculators which you can use to calculate the value of your betting arbitrage outcome. See the SBRforum, scalpulator.com, or arbcruncher.com!

Watch out for those Detroit Lions!!

Reports have indicated that team doctors have cleared Detroit Lions' 2nd year star quarterback Matt Stafford to start throwing again in practice after suffering a major shoulder injury in the 1st half of Week 1's game versus the Chicago Bears.  The injury was the first insult to the team that day as they were cheated out of their 1st win of the season and 1st road win since October 28th, 2007. Despite the fact that wide receiver stud Calvin Johnson caught a pass in the endzone with less than a minute to play with both feet landing firmly on the ground before he was tackled to the ground, the referees ruled it an incomplete pass due to "process".  Calvin dropped the ball as he stood up to celebrate what woud have been the game-winning touchdown.
However, on the bright side, with the franchise quarterback on his way to recovery to join his offensive weapons (Calvin Johnson, Javid Best, Tony Scheffler, Brandon Pettigrew) coupled a stronger defensive line (specifically with the addition of 2nd overall draft pick Ndamukong Suh and Pro-Bowler Kyle Vanden Bosch) from last season, expect big things from the Detroit Lions this season going forward!

Bet on it!

NFL Week 2 Review

Looking back on NFL week one ESPN made some crucial points to think about when placing your bets. First of all be weary if your sports betting system suggests you bet against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This defense is playing on all cylinders. Troy Palamalu is once again in a position of dominance. The Tennessee Titans were a strong team who performed, but the Steelers without Big Ben Roethlisberger, who served out a suspension this weekend. The second weary bet should be anything regarding Bret Favre's Minnesota Vikings. The trademark Favre passion is nowhere to be seen. A player known for his intense passion and energy has no passion. This Vikings team is struggling to produce, furthermore, without offensive line improvements Favre will not make it through the season. Don't put your money on the Vikings just yet, they have a lot to prove. Star running back Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints suffered a broken fibula bone. This is a crucial loss for the New Orleans Saints, however, they are still a very dominant team with or without him. Key Stats  GP 2 Att 7 Yds 2.6TDs 0 Fum 1. As you can see his numbers were not monumental, it is his leadership and special teams plays that create a void that NO Saints need to fill. The San Diego Chargers came back with avengance! The bolts rallied from their opening loss to the Chiefs to route the Jacksonville Jaguars, a game in which SD began to shine. Last but not least you can not count Michael Vick and the Eagles a fluke! Of the 32 NFL teams in week 2 only the Eagles and the Lions changed their original quarterbacks from week1. Both QB Michael Vick and QB Shaun Hill were on fire, but ultimately Michael Vick is returning to form and this is very dangerous for the rest of the NFL because he is explosive. Look for big numbers from him in the following weeks. Remember do your homework before you make your bets.
